Data Retention & Deletion Policy
This Data Retention & Deletion Policy ("Retention Policy") explains how LifeHub retains, deletes, archives, preserves, and manages information collected through the Services.
This Policy forms part of the LifeHub Terms of Service and Privacy Policy and is incorporated by reference into those agreements.
1. Purpose
LifeHub retains information for legitimate business, operational, legal, security, and compliance purposes.
This Policy describes:
- How long information may be retained;
- When information may be deleted;
- How deleted information is handled;
- How backups are managed;
- How account closures are processed; and
- Circumstances under which information may be retained longer than normal retention periods.
2. General Retention Principles
LifeHub retains information only for as long as reasonably necessary to:
- Provide the Services;
- Maintain account functionality;
- Deliver subscription features;
- Improve the Services;
- Protect users;
- Prevent fraud;
- Investigate security incidents;
- Comply with legal obligations;
- Resolve disputes; and
- Enforce agreements.
Retention periods may vary depending upon:
- Subscription tier;
- Feature usage;
- Account status;
- Applicable laws;
- Security requirements; and
- Operational needs.
3. Location History Retention
LifeHub may retain historical location information based upon the user's active subscription plan.
Current retention periods are:
Free Plan
Up to two (2) days of location history.
Silver Plan
Up to seven (7) days of location history.
Gold Plan
Up to thirty (30) days of location history.
Platinum Plan
Up to ninety (90) days of location history.
LifeHub reserves the right to modify retention periods, subscription offerings, and location-history features at any time.
Location history older than the applicable retention period may be automatically deleted without notice.
LifeHub does not guarantee that historical location information will remain available for any specific period.
4. Document Vault Retention
Users remain solely responsible for maintaining independent copies of all uploaded content.
LifeHub is not a records-retention service, legal records custodian, medical records provider, archival repository, or permanent backup service.
Documents stored within the Document Vault may remain available while an account remains active and in good standing.
Subscription Downgrades and Cancellation
If a subscription plan providing Document Vault benefits is canceled or downgraded:
- Access to certain documents or storage features may become restricted;
- Certain functionality may be disabled;
- Storage limits may be reduced; and
- Additional uploads may be prohibited.
LifeHub may provide a grace period before deletion occurs.
Document Deletion Following Cancellation
Unless otherwise required by law, documents associated with canceled subscriptions may be permanently deleted after thirty (30) days following cancellation or loss of eligibility.
LifeHub may delete documents sooner or later where operational, legal, or technical requirements justify doing so.
5. Account Deletion Requests
Users may request deletion of their account through available account settings or by contacting LifeHub support.
When an account deletion request is received:
- Account access may be disabled;
- Subscription benefits may terminate;
- Circle participation may end; and
- Deletion processing may begin.
Deletion Timeline
LifeHub generally processes account deletion requests within sixty (60) days.
During this period, certain information may remain accessible for:
- Recovery requests;
- Fraud investigations;
- Security reviews;
- Operational processing; and
- Legal compliance activities.
LifeHub does not guarantee immediate deletion upon request.
6. Information Retained After Account Deletion
Even after account deletion, LifeHub may retain certain information where reasonably necessary to:
- Comply with law;
- Meet tax obligations;
- Resolve disputes;
- Enforce agreements;
- Detect fraud;
- Investigate security incidents;
- Protect LifeHub's rights;
- Protect users; or
- Establish legal claims or defenses.
Examples may include:
- Transaction records;
- Billing records;
- Support records;
- Audit logs;
- Security logs; and
- Legal compliance records.
7. Backup Systems
LifeHub maintains backup systems designed to support operational continuity, disaster recovery, and business continuity objectives.
Deleted information may continue to exist within backup systems for a limited period following deletion from active systems.
Backup Retention
Backup copies may be retained for up to ninety (90) days or longer where operationally necessary.
Backup data is not generally accessible to users and may not be immediately removed following deletion requests.
LifeHub reserves the right to modify backup retention periods at any time.
8. AI Training and Machine Learning
LifeHub may use anonymized, aggregated, or de-identified information to improve AI Services and system performance.
LifeHub does not intentionally use identifiable customer content to train proprietary AI models.
Without limitation, LifeHub does not intentionally use the following identifiable information for AI model training:
- Medical records;
- Insurance records;
- Wills;
- Trust documents;
- Estate planning documents;
- Uploaded family documents;
- Private messages;
- Personally identifiable location history; or
- Personally identifiable account content.
Nothing in this section restricts LifeHub from using anonymized, aggregated, statistical, or de-identified information for product improvement, analytics, research, testing, or AI enhancement.
9. Legal Holds and Preservation Obligations
LifeHub may suspend ordinary deletion schedules when information is subject to:
- Litigation;
- Threatened litigation;
- Government investigations;
- Regulatory inquiries;
- Court orders;
- Subpoenas;
- Security investigations;
- Fraud investigations; or
- Other legal preservation obligations.
During a legal hold, affected information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary.
10. Security Logs and Audit Records
LifeHub may retain security-related records for longer periods than standard account information.
Examples include:
- Authentication logs;
- Access logs;
- Device activity records;
- Security alerts;
- Fraud-detection records;
- Incident response records; and
- Compliance records.
Such information may be retained for security, compliance, and legal purposes.
11. Changes to This Policy
LifeHub may modify this Retention Policy from time to time.
Updated versions become effective upon posting unless otherwise stated.
Continued use of the Services after an update becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
